Trust

Why is it that we are always so quick to assume the worst when something goes wrong? God has proven Himself to us time and time again, yet we fail to trust in Him to take care of us and Damon. This weekend Damon had been throwing up a lot of his milk after he ate. We hadn't really been that concerned until yesterday and last night it was worrying Jeremy and me very much. We were worried that he was going to get dehydrated or lose weight again. I was concerned that it might be a condition that one of my best friend's baby had. I can't remember what it is called but the valve that goes to her stomach didn't work right and she had to have surgery. She was fine after that, but I couldn't bear the thought of Damon having to have surgery again before he was scheduled to.

I called Dr Gandhi and Dr Grote and they said (collectively) that we should stop using the iron drops for a couple of days and to give him plenty of time to burp in between the bottle and the tube and he was also prescribed Zantac for reflux, just in case that's what was causing it.

Then the home health nurse came and we told her what was going on and she said that iron drops can make babies nausious and that it was probably just that. So my mind was thinking of all these terrible things when the solution is probably very simple.

Now on a better note, his sats today were between 78-83, so Dr Tong was right, the iron did the trick. He also weighed in at 7lbs 7oz today! So he didn't lose any weight over the weekend, even though he had been getting sick. We praise God for those things and we will trust in Him to take care of the other things too. He is a faithful God; that we have learned for sure.

Talk to you all soon.
