Operation Fatty

Damon had an appt w/ Dr Tong today. Everything about his heart looked great! He even had a decrease in his gradient, which means his aorta isn't as narrow as it was 3 months ago. Praise God for healing this problem, even if He is doing it slowly.

The one thing Dr Tong was concerned about was his growth, or lack there of. He is the same height and weight as he was 3 months ago. We have talked before about this and he explained that sometimes these kids will stop growing between the 2nd and 3rd surgeries. The drs aren't sure why this happens, but he suggested it just meant that they had "outgrown" the 2nd surgery. He wants to see Damon in 2 months this time instead of 3 so he can recheck his growth. He said if he hasn't shown any increase then he will send all his info to Dr Gandhi to see what he thinks.

Dr Tong said for us to commence Operation Fatten Him Up. Our job in the next two months is to get him to gain as much weight as we can. We can't really do a whole lot about the height thing though. It's not going to be easy because his appetite has not always been that great. However when I asked Dr T what I could do he said feed him a lot of fatty foods. And lucky for us, those are the kinds of foods he will eat. So it's cheeseburgers, fries, meaty spaghetti (mama likes too!) and if I can hide them well enough, avacados. Please pray for this weight gain. He really is so skinny, he looks like a pale little Ethiopian.

Talk to you all later.

Sarah

Granny and Pa say: Damon is so sweet, even though he is little, and so smart and alert. He loved the "animoos" at Noah The Musical. We really enjoyed our week with Myles and Damon. Granny and Pa
