We were playing Hi Ho Cherry O tonight and Myles got a scratch on his knee from something on the floor. I looked for a long time and finally found two tiny pieces of glass from broken Christmas tree ornaments. Now hold it right there, I know what you're thinking and I DID vacuum after anything got broken and then once really good after we took the tree down and then a few times since then too. But my vacuum is stupid and old and needed a new filter a year ago and it's just stupid and doesn't suck very well. So it wasn't my fault. Anyway, Myles had these two tine scratches on his knee that were bleeding just a little, mostly because he was squeezing them. He was complaining about them hurting, which is actually pretty low key for him. Usually he screams and takes full advantage of visible blood so I've got to give him credit. I asked him if he wanted a band aid. He says to me "Mom, you gotta get me one of the big ones, you know out of the First Date kit in the car."

Damon likes to each Chinese because he gets chop sticks, which he promptly turns into drum sticks. We had Chinese two weeks ago and he kept his chop sticks and drummed around with them until this last Saturday when he proceeded to flush one of them down the toilet. The problems didn't make themselves known until this morning, but there were PROBLEMS! Thankfully we have a neighbor who is a maintenance man and he had the neatest contraption that just took care of that chop stick right away. So thanks so much to Mike. Damon will not be bringing anymore chop sticks home.

Myles has a friend named Kylie that lives down the street. She comes over sometimes to play and they play outside sometimes with the other kids in the neighborhood. The other day she came over to see if he could go next door to play with the kids and I told him he could. He was only gone for about 15 minutes or so and when he came back he was upset. I went to see what was wrong and Damon came to tell me that Kylie broke Myles' heart. I looked at Myles and he started bawling and said "she did mom, she broke my heart." It took a while to get him to tell us what happened. Apparently they got into a fight about something and Kylie told him to go home because he couldn't play there anymore. He told her she wasn't the boss of him and then her dad came out and got her in trouble. Then she told him to go home again and she didn't want to be his friend anymore. It really hurt his feelings, which I totally understand cause I had a friend say that to me once and I never forgot it. Anyway, Myles said he didn't want to be her friend anymore either, but then later she came to say sorry and all was forgotten. But the funniest thing was how upset Damon was. He walked right to the front door ready to go find her and defend his brother's honor. He was very protective and so upset that someone had "bwoken his bubby's heawt." So cute!

P.S. I have no idea how either of them know how to use the phrase "broke my heart" in context.

Jeremy and I both are on Facebook quite a bit. He found a HLHS support group on there with a lot of people to talk to and get info from. I don't so much feel like I need support but there are some young people that are members that actually have HLHS, like in their 20's. So I'm really interested to talk to them, I have so many questions about what life has been like for them. That really is the unknown factor for all these kids; the future. So I'll keep you posted on what we find out and who we meet there. Talk to you all later.
