Damon had an appt with Dr Tong today. He freaked out a little when he first started the echo but calmed down pretty quickly and was great for the rest of the visit. His echo and ekg looked fine and his blood pressures in his arm and leg were only 9 different which is good. The gradient of his aortic arch was only 10. Last time it was 16 and the lower the number the better. Dr Tong said that it can flucuate but it has been lower the last several times we have been to see him. He also had grown 2 cm and gained almost 3 lbs! I can't explain how great that made me feel. I started crying right there in the hall by the scale. Gaining weight for him has always been a struggle and to see him growing so much just makes me so greatful to God. I'm so proud of him since the surgery. He has been eating so much better and growing like crazy. Then we went to the play room to wait for Dr Tong and Ms Patty put the sat monitor on his finger and his sats were 91, 92. It was so great to see those numbers.
When he had his surgery Dr Huddleston left a small opening in his heart to relieve pressure. Dr Tong said as his sats continue to go up he may need to have that closed but it can be done in the cath lab.
He is doing so well. He went to his pre-school screening this week and did great and he also is going to start playing soccer next week. He's so excited! Myles will be playing too so we'll be busy this spring. I praise God every day for my children and am so thankful that they are happy and healthy boys. God is so faithful to us. Talk to you all soon.
